Information

At Aquna Sustainable Murray Cod, we produce premium, sustainably farmed Murray cod with a firm texture and natural, clean, creamy flavour. Our brand is coveted around Australia as a fine-dining fish, and we are hooking the top chefs on our fish from the best restaurants across the globe. Like the kangaroo and the koala, the Murray cod is an iconic Australian native species, dating back approximately 20 million years, and we are restoring wild populations by releasing millions of fingerlings through Government restocking programs. More than just a product, Aquna represents what’s possible when science-based innovation and practices respectful to the environment are applied to food production. Our farm to table approach ensures that the fish have versatile qualities and a clean and delicate flavour. This makes Aquna perfect when pan-seared, baked, battered, steamed, and grilled. Plus, it's packed with a wonderful and wide range of vitamins and minerals including omega 3 and 6 fatty acids. Aquna Sustainable Murray Cod is available as whole fish either cleaned or intact, as a whole side fillet, premium loin portions, and our Aquna Gold Caviar has recently landed in the domestic Australian market. We’re always looking for new ways to have a positive impact on people’s plates and the planet.

Australia’s marine environment includes all the world’s five ocean climate zones: equatorial, tropical, sub-tropical, temperate, subpolar and polar. Australian waters contain over 3,000 species of fish and at least an equal number of known crustaceans and molluscs. Only about 10 per cent of these are commercially fished.
