Norwegian salmon – for everyday use and for special occasions The Norwegian salmon is the ancient Norwegian salmon species Salmon Salar, which belongs to the North Atlantic salmon stock. Since the Ice Age, salmon have migrated to the Atlantic Ocean from their spawning grounds in Norwegian rivers. Because they carry water from glaciers and melted snow, these rivers are cold all year.
