Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP)

Solidus' MAP solution offers a sustainable, paper-based alternative to plastic trays for fresh and processed foods such as fish, meat and salads. This packaging method extends shelf life by replacing air with a protective gas mixture, helping to maintain product freshness. Our MAP trays are made from FSC® certified solid board with a barrier liner made from renewable fibres, reducing the plastic content by up to 90% compared to traditional plastic trays. A transparent barrier film seals the tray and can be easily removed after use, allowing separate disposal and recycling. Designed for seamless integration, Solidus MAP trays can be produced on the same current packaging machines that produce plastic packaging products.
